Hello! I’m Hernan Chousa
Hi, I’m Hernán Chousa — father, former tennis player, author, and host of The Youth Sports Parenting Tribe podcast.
My journey in sports began on the tennis court, but it honestly took shape as I raised two high-performance athletes of my own. That experience brought deep joy, challenging questions, and a desire to understand what it means to support a child in the competitive sports world.
This led me to write my first book, My Son the Tennis Player, an honest and personal reflection on the emotional rollercoaster that parents ride when their children pursue big dreams. But one book wasn’t enough.
I later created ParentShift — both a book and an online course — to give parents the mindset and tools to show up with clarity, balance, and empathy. It’s not about pushing harder; it’s about being present, intentional, and aligned with what our kids truly need.
Through my podcast, The Youth Sports Parenting Tribe, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing world-class coaches, elite athletes, psychologists, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders from around the globe. With every conversation, I grow, gaining new perspectives, challenging my own beliefs, and collecting insights that reshape how I parent and how I live. This podcast has become my classroom, and each guest is my teacher.
This space exists for parents who are ready to grow alongside their kids, question outdated patterns, and lead with purpose. I believe that when we evolve as parents, we don’t just raise better athletes — we raise stronger, wiser human beings.
Welcome to the Tribe.
